An EcoCore® closure, based on work for the well-known Air Wick Vestacy brand, has won the FEA - European Aerosol Federation startup award at Paris Packaging Week.

The innovative cap comes from designs for an Air Wick air freshener refill, part of the Vestacy portfolio. The Vestacy project is currently in advanced development and aims to address the cost and sustainability challenges of the value chain.
The new EcoCore foamtech closure reduces resin use by 44% and cycle time by 33%, lowering plastic use and cost. The cap is also stronger to help reduce breakages and waste.

Made with Borealis PP, the cap can use mechanically and chemically recycled resins, as well as those with bio-based feedstocks, and is recyclable within widely available waste streams.
Commenting on the award Henri Gaskjen, Bockatech CEO, says: "We're overjoyed that the EcoCore cap for the leading Air Wick Vestacy air freshener brand has won the FEA award at Paris Packaging Week.
It clearly demonstrates how EcoCore can be used to address the sustainability challenges of single-use packaging in the key household FMCG sector, and we're looking forward to showing the impact for other leading brands and sectors soon."
